What we believe

The Bible is God's perfect manual for living.
God is actively involved in our lives.
The one God, creator of the world, loves us.
God came to earth to live among us in the person of Jesus.
The Holy Spirit is God living in us.
All people have a need for the life that only God can give.
Because of the death and resurrection of Christ we can have the hope of heaven.
We celebrate our faith when we practice baptism and communion.
The church was designed by God so we can know Him, make Him known to others, and serve each other like Jesus.

Jesus is coming again!

Mission & Vision

Our Mission Statement

To Know Him and To Make Him Known

Our Vision

We dream of a church that is a Biblically functioning community, where people have a growing passion to follow Jesus and to make Him known to others.

Our Values / Purposes

Live submitted lives: God’s Truth is revealed to us in the Scriptures. As we strive to know God’s Word well, we cooperate with the Holy Spirit and He transforms us to live more like Jesus.

Goal: Create a community where it’s difficult for people to be biblically illiterate.

Live worshipful lives: Provide meaningful corporate worship which encourages continued worship of God in each of our private lives.

Goal: Create a community where it’s difficult for people to live self centered lives.

Live connected lives: God has designed us to share life in meaningful, loving relationships. Following Jesus’ example, we aim to care for and serve one another.

Goal: Create a community where it’s difficult for people to live lonely lives.

Live prayerful lives: Our relationship with God, our Heavenly Father, deepens as we pray and express our dependence and adoration for Him.

Goal: Create a community where it’s difficult for people to live self reliant lives.

Live missional lives: Lost people matter to God and they matter to us as well.

Goal: Create a community where it’s difficult for people to miss God’s invitation into eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ.

Our Staff

Roger Johnson - Associate Pastor

Hi, My name is Roger. It is my privilege to serve as the Associate Pastor at Westbrook. Life is an adventure, especially when Jesus is Lord. God has blessed my wife Susan and I with two beautiful daughters. Music is the tie that binds our home and family. Stop by and you may hear a daughter playing drums, clarinet, or the piano.

I enjoy road and mountain biking, and canoeing the Whitewater Rivers of Wisconsin. Camping is one of our favorite family activities. My desire is to see people come to know Jesus Christ and to live passionately for Him. My hope is that Westbrook Church would be the place you and your family join in that Adventure.

Paul Carter - Ministry Operations Manager

My name is Paul Carter, I am the Ministry Operations Manager here at Westbrook. My wife Angelique and our two young children live in Oconomowoc where we so enjoy the many community parades and events.

Being involved in the "business" end of our church is both fun and challenging. Our Operations Team provides services to the staff and congregation in the area of finance, business management, building/grounds, human resources, and communication. Even though I am a behind the scenes operations guy, my true joy comes when someone stands up and says "yes" to our Lord.

Dan Schober - Pastor Community Care, Men’s Ministry, & Sports Ministry

I have been married to Muffy for over 40 years. We have three daughters and five grandchildren. The first 35 years of my professional life were spent as a school teacher, coach and Athletic Director (the final 26 years at Kettle Moraine). I'm in my tenth year as pastor. My duties include community care, adult classes, sports camps and men's ministry. I love to teach (and often do), as well as leading Men's Small Groups. In my leisure time, I love to read and/or workout.

Paul Sanders - Pastor Children’s Ministry, Next Steps

Hi! My name is Paul. I enjoy riding a bike, taking pictures, hiking with my wife, and occasionally making people laugh. God has blessed my wife, Barb, and I with three wonderful children who are all out of high school, but still hang out at our 100+ year old farm house when they can.

On the job, I enjoy connecting people with the Lord, helping people make new friends in our church community, assisting people as they get connected in ministries that let their gifts shine, doing puppets with preschoolers, and a multitude of other things.

Wendy Jones- Children's Ministry Team Leader

My name is Wendy Jones and I have had the wonderful privilege of serving our Lord on staff in Children's Ministries since 1999. I am blessed with a terrific husband, Michael, and four fun-loving kids. I enjoy spending time at home with my family, playing cards or games, watching movies or just hanging out.

I love my job at Westbrook! My real joy comes from seeing the children (and their families) each Sunday. I love seeing their excitement as they rush down the hall to see their friends and their shepherds with an occasional stop to give me a hug or tell me some extra big news. It's been so cool to watch children as they journey through Westbrook.

Amy Thompson - Director of Global Outreach

My name is Amy Thompson, and I am privileged to have worked with Global Outreach since Westbrook's earliest days. We served as missionaries with the Navigators for the three years of our engagement; Craig traveling in Eastern Europe while I was teaching at a school for missionary kids in Kenya. We now live in Stone Bank and have four great kids.

My passion is to help each person at Westbrook be part of encouraging and equipping missionaries for their various ministries, to become one of many hands, heads, and hearts committed to practically loving and faithfully praying for those we have "sent" to work in other parts of the Lord's Kingdom, and to being available as "extended family" to help our International Workers with whatever challenges life or ministry brings.

Greg Marshall - Youth Director (Grades 5-12)

Hello. I’m the Youth Director—that means it’s my job to facilitate and lead students in an exploration of the nature of reality and relationships from the living God’s perspective. My goal is to awaken wonder and understanding in young people that results in real life transformation in how we think, live and relate. The Bible is my central source of perspective and reality, my standard of truth.

It was nearly eight years ago that God gently grafted me into his family. Since then He’s blessed me with my own family. My wife’s name is Laura. She’s a brilliant and beautiful person with a strong mind and modest character. My daughter’s name is Genevieve and she is gifted with a ministry of laughter and joy-making.

Pat Yenter - Director Women’s Ministries

Hello, I’m Pat! In this new season of my life, my husband Mel and I are so blessed to not only be the parents of two very special adult sons, but to also have the precious gift of two daughters now in our family, since both of our sons are now married. I personally enjoy learning all I can about our Lord through reading, studying, listening, and basically just sitting at His feet to know Him deeply and intimately. I then love to share what I learn of Him and what He reveals to me with others so we can all know Him more deeply and be encouraged in our journey with Him. Growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord personally and then helping others to discover the truth about Him, and subsequently grow as well, is a real passion in my life.

Baptism

At Westbrook, we define water baptism as a picture or outward demonstration of the work God is doing in the lives of those who have committed themselves to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Watch the bulletin for upcoming class opportunities.

Communion

On the first Sunday of each month, we practice communion as a special reminder of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The bread and juice are offered to all followers of Jesus Christ as a symbol of the body and blood of Christ. Participants are encouraged to prepare their hearts for this time of remembrance and celebration of what Christ has done for us.
