Students

Welcome to the Student Ministry section of the website. Our goal as a ministry is to create opportunities for authentic relationships to happen: Relationships between the youth and Jesus Christ, each other, their families at home, and their extended church family. This all happens in a variety of ways which you can read about by clicking below. Let us know if you have any questions about how Westbrook Church Student Ministires helps youth discover and develop a relationship with Jesus Christ and then be deployed to love and serve God and others.

» Middle School: 6th through 8th Graders

Our Middle School Ministry for 6th through 8th graders seeks to draw students into an intimate and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. It is an intentional ministry designed to meet the specific needs of these preteens and young teens. It is a place:

  • For students to belong, to discover God’s Word, and to connect their lives to God’s Word, His church, and family.
  • To equip students to make good choices based on biblical truth. Students face many challenges in today’s world, including pressure from peers, school, and the media. God’s Word guides us through these challenges.
  • Where we strive to equip parents to become strong spiritual mentors to their Middle School children.

SUNDAYS - September through May

The Sunday School program meets during 1st service in the Westbroom. The morning will start off with icebreaker games to help the youth to get to know each other and the leaders. We will then move into a short time of worship, a large group teaching, and small group discussions.

THURSDAYS September through May

CrossRoads is the Thursday night program for 6th through 8th grades. CrossRoads meets at Westbrook Church from 6:15 to 8:15PM. The evening begins with 15 minutes of free time, followed by worship, and a large group teaching. The youth are then divided by grade and gender into small groups to discuss the teaching, look at scripture, share ideas of how the teaching applies to their life, and pray. They also spend 15 – 20 minutes in the gym playing games.

» High School: 9th through 12th Graders

Senior High is for high school students in grades 9 through 12. Our mission is to assist students and leaders in developing as fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ by encouraging, empowering, and equipping them to love God and to love one another.

Senior High at Westbrook church is a place where teens can explore the nature of reality and relationships with God's Word as the map. Teens have the opportunity to think critically about their relationship with God, family, friends, and self while learning to walk with Jesus toward Christ-likeness.

This year we will model the three "D's" of the church, which are Discover, Develop, and Deploy. Wednesday nights will be our "Discover" night, which will be outreach centered, where your teens can invite friends and not feel uncomfortable. A Sunday morning Bible Study will be the time to focus on the "Develop" aspect. Finally, we will "Deploy" every other month by going into the community to do service projects.

Leaders and mentors are here to walk with teens through the beautiful and sometimes rocky terrain of high school, seeking to creatively live, teach, and discuss the Word of God in a way teens can apply it to their lives now and into the future. Please contact us if you have any questions.
