Library
We offer a lending library with thousands of books, tapes and movies that encourage individual spiritual growth and promote the mission of our church.
WHAT IS THE LIBRARY?
The library is a lending library with thousands of books and hundreds of videotapes. We also have audiotapes, DVDs and magazines for all ages.
WHEN CAN I USE IT?
The library is staffed on Sundays from 9:00am - 12:15 pm and may also be used during the week since we have a self check out system in place.
HOW LONG MAY I USE THE MEDIA?
Books, magazines and audiocassettes may be loaned free for three weeks. Videotapes and DVDs may be rented for $1.00 per week.
DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH TO CHECK OUT MATERIALS?
No. Anyone may use the library. We just ask that you fill out each check-out card with the date, your first and last name and your phone number.
HOW IS THE LIBRARY ARRANGED?
We use the Dewey Decimal System for cataloging. You will see we have one entire wall of non-fiction books. The reverse wall contains fiction for adults, books for teens and pre-teens, family videos/DVDs and a children's section with books and videotapes.
HOW DO I FIND A CERTAIN BOOK?
On Sundays, we will search for your book in our database. We can search by title, author or subject. Otherwise, we have a Book Locator (printed catalog) on the table that contains these records in printed form.
DO YOU OFFER BOOK CLUBS?
Yes. We try to offer book clubs every few months. We will publish information in the bulletin prior to a book club discussion. We will try to choose books that will appeal to both men and women of all ages.
DO YOU NEED HELP IN THE LIBRARY?
Yes. We are always looking for volunteers who want to serve the Lord in this ministry. We need people with and without computer skills. We need people that like to work with people and those who like to work behind the scenes. We would love to have you join us in this vital ministry. Please call 262-367-8422, ext. 226.
